Fundamentals of Lean Thinking

Lean thinking is one of the key elements of World Class Excellence. Some companies may prefer to call it Just In Time (JIT) or Kaizen, but in essence it is the relentless effort to strip all processes to value added components and eliminate waste. In this highly competitive global economy it can easily be the edge. You will be able to judge your own company on the intelligent use of resources and initiate significant improvements.

This program is designed for any manager, supervisor, or person responsible for the design or improvement of a process. This program will also allow an executive to appraise how this program will enhance one's position in the marketplace.

  • The Impact-Changeabiltiy Matrix - provides a means to prioritize all the possibly conflicting projects that a company could be pursuing
  • Assessment ROI Tools - to enable Lean to obtain necessary resources
  • The 5S - creates a standard methodology of 5 steps to create a workplace for visual control and productivity
  • Flowcharting - evaluate resources, time, space, and distance
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation - methods for a Lean program
  • Teamwork - considerations for both workers and facilitators
  • The Relationship and Importance of Quality - including poka-yoke, an excellent process needs defect free output
  • Kaizen Principles - continuous improvement methodology that allows for fast on the site changes
  • Pull Systems - allow for visual control, pace work and keep inventory waste from building.

HOW TO PREPARE

Each participant will be asked to submit ahead of time a short questionnaire regarding their company's issues.
