SVA Course Curriculum - Implementing Lean Supply Chain Management

Supply Chain Management, Vendor Managed Inventory, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-time production all has a common goal, to improve over all lead-time and to be more responsive to customer demand fluctuations. They all attempt to improve customer service by eliminating waste from the system in all of its forms.

Lean Supply Chain Managements fundamental core is built on the same premise of waste reduction. Where Lean Supply Chain Management differs is that it extends out to all suppliers and out to the customers. Lean Supply Chain Managements goal is to dramatically improve the entire supply chain from your Customers Customer to your Suppliers Supplier. To achieve excellence in Lean Supply Chain Management it requires a high level of cooperation throughout the entire supply chain. All members of the supply chain must work together to manage and control cost and to achieve profitability for all members.

Participants in this course will learn all the key concepts of Lean Supply Chain Management; they will be able to develop a Lean Supply Chain Implementation plan. They will understand the connection between customers and suppliers and the extent of information required to meet all the goals of Lean Supply Chain Management. This course is dynamic and interactive; it contains many case studies and will challenge the participant with many comprehensive exercises. The design of this course leads to a concentration on the entire supply chain. The course teaches that the management of customer demand and how this demand is managed along with the management of the supplier base is key to Lean Supply Chain Management Excellence.
